Rod Brito joins the Magnetic Magazine mix series

Rod Brito is a Brazilian artist who has been refining his craft for over two decades, travelling the world and soaking up influences for his unique brand of expressive, atmospheric electronic music.With a new release out now on the ever impressive Zatar Music label, we get a glimpse into some of those influences via Kamanche – released in its original form and via a remix from Namito.The original is a vibey exploration into groove, featuring esoteric instrumentation on top of a driving rhythm section. The whole thing is augmented by additional percussion that brings the track into a new dimension, while the Namito remix strips the groove down and builds it back up in a new way, giving a slightly new feel that stays true to the spirit of the original.
